You’ll Then Have Three Options for the Type of Photo to Upload

  • Logo: Your logo photo will help you keep your brand consistent and identifiable across Google. Your logo icon will appear alongside any posts from your profile or anytime you respond to a question or review.
  • Cover photo: Your cover photo is the money shot – this photo is most likely to show up first in your Google Business Profile listing and will be used the most in your Google location assets images.

3. Remove Outdated Photos

You can also remove old pictures from your Google Business Profile if they are out of date or not very good. Just go to your Google Business Profile and click anywhere in the photos area. Go to the “By owner” area and click on the picture you want to get rid of. In the top right area, there should be a trash can “delete” icon that you can click on to get rid of it from your profile.

You also put that same image next to all of your Google ads to make sure that your brand is always visible on the SERP. 4. Enhance Your Ads With Image Assets

Lucky for them, these new features for location assets can be turned off, so advertisers can just show their location with their ad without any pictures.

Follow these steps to stop Google Ads from automatically adding photos to your local ads:

  • Click “Ads and Assets” on the left side of Google Ads.
  • Then, click “Assets.”
  • Under “Associations view,” click the “More” icon with three dots.
  • Now, click “Account-level automated assets.”
  • From this view, click the “More” icon with three dots again.
  • Then, click the “Advanced settings” button.
  • Under “Automatic locations,” find the checkbox that says “Grant Google Ads license to use merchant photos and other rich media from the linked Google Business Profiles in advertising campaigns from this account.”
  • Uncheck this choice.
  • Finally, click Save.
